A DJ Called Quest

Quest (Jesse) is always brainstorming fresh new ideas for parties. Shenzhen’s foremost drum & bass DJ and promoter, he can always be counted on for a fresh, up-to-date set of lush, bass heavy tunes.

Quest began organizing events in 2007 (starting with the China Surf Open!) and hasn’t looked back. He still lives in the early 90s golden age of hip hop, and started making beats with old vinyl and a vintage keyboard sampler in 2000. Quest began DJing in SZ in the spring of 2008, getting started at the legendary Ibiza Bar (RIP).

Quest is also a huge proponent of vinyl, turntables, yoga, surfing, and more. He came up with Fresh in order to satisfy his own nightlife desires, introduce new talent, and spice up the underground music scene in Shenzhen. He works as a photographer and lives to surf and throw fresh events.
